Last year we engaged with community members to explore ideas and priorities for West Kelowna’s parks. We heard valuable insights that have helped shape an updated Draft Master Plan that will guide how we plan and invest in our parks over the next decade and beyond.

Now, the Draft Plan is ready for community review! We’d like to hear your feedback as we refine the plan for Council review later in 2024.

About the Project

We created our first Parks Master Plan in 2010 and updated it in 2016. These plans have helped us achieve projects like the CNR Wharf, Annette Beaudreau Amphitheatre, playground additions, field and court upgrades, and much more. Since the last update, West Kelowna has grown, our world has changed, and you have shared new ideas. Now it’s time to update the Parks Master Plan to reflect the West Kelowna of today.

The focus for the Parks Master Plan is outdoor parks, open spaces, and waterfront areas managed by the City of West Kelowna. It does not include parks managed by the School District, Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO), Westbank First Nation (WFN), or others, though these great spaces are considered in our planning. Explore West Kelowna's existing parks.

Recreational Trails Master Plan

Since parks and recreational trails are closely linked, we are updating the Parks Master Plan and the Recreational Trails Master Plan together. We would love to hear your feedback on the Draft Recreational Trails Master Plan as well - visit www.ourwk/rectrails by May 24, 2024.
