TMP Phase 1 Consultation Complete

Thank you to everyone who participated in Phase 1 of the TMP and contributed their thoughts, ideas and feedback about transportation in West Kelowna. Results of what we heard from the community were shared with Council at their regular Council meeting on April 5, 2022.

Read the Phase 1: What We Heard Report.

OCP 2040

West Kelowna is home to nearly 39,000 people and by 2040 we expect to welcome an additional 12,000 new residents to our community. The OCP update is underway to help guide growth and establish policies that make West Kelowna a great place to live, work and play.

The OCP’s new Growth Concept focuses most future growth in two urban centres, five neighbourhood centres and accommodates continued development beyond these centres with a focus on infill housing. It also enhances key economic opportunities in the City’s industrial and business park areas. Focusing growth in key areas will help ensure more people live close to work and services, reducing the need to drive and decreasing congestion and greenhouse gas emissions. Focusing growth also makes it easier to provide more transportation choices, such as improved transit, sidewalks and bike routes.
