Consultation has now closed. Later this fall, we will share the results of public feedback and the final design of the City Hall/Library Building. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback.

We want to hear from you!

Welcome to the second round of public input for the West Kelowna City Hall Project.

West Kelowna’s first City Hall/Library Building is now in the Detailed Design phase. In June and July 2021, we heard from the community about what features and elements of the building are most important. Now, we want your feedback to help finalize the design.

From September 20 - October 3, you'll have the opportunity to share your feedback to help guide the final design of the building.

How to get involved

Key dates in 2021

  • September 20 - October 3 - Feedback is open
  • Early October - Results are shared with the design team
  • Fall 2021 - City Hall/Library Building construction begins
  • Winter 2022 - Construction complete

Public consultation

This is the second of two rounds of public consultation for the City Hall Project. In this round, your input will guide the final design of the building and will help us to further understand preferences in the following areas:

  • customer experiences when visiting City Hall/Library Building
  • characteristics of great outdoor spaces for the community to gather
  • outdoor landscaping, seating and lighting elements
  • connectivity and accessibility throughout the site and area
  • Library space and services

Thank you for your participation!

What we heard - Preliminary Design

From June 14-July 4, 2021, we asked for public feedback to help inform the design of the City Hall/Library Building. This was the first of two rounds of public consultation.

To learn more about what we heard, read the Preliminary Design Consultation Reports:

How we got here

Beginning in 2021, West Kelowna will see the design and construction of its first City Hall since its incorporation in 2007. A reserve was established as savings to fund the design and construction.

With the momentum of infrastructure investment well underway for water, sewer, roads and sidewalks, it is now time to move forward with delivering a suitable place for City administration. This will allow the City to consolidate its administration resulting in financial and work flow efficiencies. Also, Mt. Boucherie Community Centre will be returned to the Greater Westside area residents to enjoy.

About the project

The City-owned site located at 3731 Old Okanagan Highway is soon to be a vibrant area that provides greater civic services. With its proximity to Westbank Centre, Memorial Park, Johnson Bentley Aquatic Centre (JBMAC) and the Annette Beaudreau Memorial Amphitheatre, the area will be a welcoming place to gather and a catalyst to revitalization. These are exciting times to celebrate how we serve the Greater Westside and all it has to offer as a vibrant place to live, work and play.
