December 2021 update: What we heard

In July and August 2021, residents and members of the community had the opportunity to share their feedback about what features and amenities of Casa Loma Dock Park were important to include in future upgrades. Thank you to everyone who took the time to provide us with feedback.

About the project

Casa Loma Dock Park is currently an undeveloped waterfront park used by local residences and visitors to access Okanagan Lake. The park’s flat access to the shoreline and a central location within the Casa Loma neighbourhood makes it a natural waterfront amenity for swimming, sunbathing, picnicking, boat launching and walking. With your input, we've developed a park concept that meets these and other community objectives.

Feedback from the community helped inform the design of the park. Upgrades include:

• paved pathway and boardwalk
• shade trees and seating areas
• Accessible picnic area

Key dates

• July 30 to August 15, 2021 - Public feedback open
• August 5, 2021 - Pop-up engagement session (4:00pm to 7:00pm at the park)
• Late Fall 2021 - Engagement Summary Report is shared
• Winter 2021 - Construction is anticipated to begin
• Spring 2022 - Construction complete

Construction is anticipated to begin the week of December 13, 2021. Casa Loma Dock Park will be closed to the public to allow site preparation work to begin. This closure is expected to be in place throughout the winter and early spring due to the extent of the work required.
