About the new fire station

The new fire station is a modern, purpose-built facility designed to meet the needs of West Kelowna Fire Rescue and our growing community. It includes four apparatus bays, a large gear room, hose tower, SCBA room, workshop, and living quarters to support firefighters in their critical work.

The project also delivers:

  • Removal of the former Lakeview Heights Community Centre, sport court, playground, and pickleball facilities

  • Construction of a new, combined fire station and community centre

  • Installation of new pickleball courts, a new sports court and playground

  • A parking area for both the public and fire station operations

  • Public green space and landscaping for community use

Key benefits of the project are:

  • A fire station with room for future growth

  • Enhanced community space with a modern community centre

  • Improved park space, including new pickleball courts, an updated sports court and playground

  • Development and design aligned with the Official Community Plan and Council’s Strategic Priorities, with a strong emphasis on accessibility
